CASTLE HILL
HULL
Castle Hill Cardiac Hospital is part of the Hull university teaching group  of hospitals based at Collingham  near to the city of Hull in England I am been transferred for Adriatic valve replacement operation after been rejected  by my local centre on ill health grounds they are saying i am to ill to survive the operation I am transferred the day before the operation from Bradford Royal to Castle Hill by emergency ambulance more details click here  on arrival at Castle Hill I am placed on the cardiac assessment ward in preparation for the operation the following day my family travelled down  to support my mother to see me knowing this may be the last time they will see me on the  day of operation my mum and close family once again travel down to Hull to be with me and support my mother before and after the surgery if anything goes wrong during the operation or I do not survive the operation my mother is informed  the operation will take three hours and by all means the they are welcome to stop in the hospital but there is a nice public house used by the staff at the hospital and they will come and inform them when the operation is completed and any updates I am wheeled in to theatre for the operation could commence the operation will involve opening up my ribs to give the surgeons access to my my heart my heart is then opened I am attached to a machine which will act as my heart in pumping blood around my body allowing the surgeons to stop the heart and remove the infected valve and replace it with a pig skin valve I defy all the odds and survive the operation my mother and family are allowed in to the post operation  room to see me wth  the iadian placed on my body for the operation after a period of time in the recovery room I am transferred to the cardiology ward were I will remain for the rest of my stay at Castle hill

this is the policy at Castle Hill the hospital believes a patent recovers quicker and better if placed on the same ward and environment for there stay after a period of time (enough time to grow a beard) and are strong enough to allow the intensive care unit  at Bradford Royal to  continue with my care and  recovery still by ambulance but with no blue flashing lights and outriders to escort me just me and a ambulance
